4 stars for the body shop work on the car. It was flawless. Credit to the team carrying out the repairs. The car looked brand new again. I can't give five stars as the office side left me feeling frustrated. Initially the car was booked in for 9th January. With a courtesy car arranged. Understandably the parts were delayed arriving due to the snow (fair enough) the car was booked in again for the Monday 19th January on arriving the request for a courtesy car hadn't been carried over.. (a hire car was arranged with enterprise) then to be told 3 days later my car wouldn't be ready until 26th due to more parts still needed. Frustrated I made the point that this was never mentioned on the 19th and I needed the car back for work. Amazingly I was then called back an hour later and told that the work was all completed and the car would be ready to pick up. A very mixed experience with Alton.

This review reflects my personal experience and honest opinion. My experience with this company was very disappointing. I felt some staff members were unfriendly, and during one conversation I felt I was spoken to in a threatening manner when I explained that I could not immediately return the car due to having no alternative transport in my rural area. Bash, however, was helpful and allowed me extra time while I dealt with insurance company. When my own car was returned, the fan was not working, preventing me from getting to work. When I reported this, I felt the staff member I spoke to was rude and dismissive. He said the car had been returned in the same condition, even though the initial inspection report I received did not list any issues with the fan. Although he did not directly call me dishonest, that is how the conversation came across. I requested a manager call back, but I did not receive one. Used Alton Cars under a warranty bodywork claim through Ford UK. Bruce, Sam and all the team did a fantastic job. They seemed to care and wanted to make sure my car was looked after. The car looks brand new. Can't believe what the whole team have achieved. Would definitely recommend here for any bodywork needed. 4177

My car was driven back to me when I was told that it would be brought back on a trailer, the same way that it was collected. No one asked me for permission for the car to be driven over and above what would be necessary for the repairs. The person who was driving my car was vaping as he got out, which I find quite frankly disgusting. The broken excess parts were left in the car - I was assured that these would either be used or disposed of when the car was collected. The work was not completed in full which I understand was due to not being authorised by the insurance which is no fault of Alton's and yet this wasn't communicated to me. The whole communication process from start to finish was poor - I had to chase repeatedly to get a completion date for the works. The two people who did come to deliver the car back to me were some of the rudest and most unhelpful people that I have come across and they are certainly not a credit to you as a business.

Finally got our car back after 8 wks! Communication was zero, was repeatedly, blatantly lied to, waiting for parts, parts are now in but spoke to another member parts weren’t even there. Told to collect car Wednesday, we called Monday to be told part wasn’t in. Brand new car that we’ve been without for 2 months due to incompetence. The poor lad on reception told to pass on information from managers rather than management calling. Not 1 call from Alton cars throughout, was always us having to ring for updates, although was no point as was just fed lies to pass us off! Seen other reviews of the same context, Alton cars you need a course in communication & honesty, a weekly update would have been appreciated Also the car has come back filthy inside but was told it was being valeted so collect today not yesterday, absolutely disgraceful the car is dirtier than when it went in would give zero review if I could
