James and Anna have been our rug merchants of choice since we discovered them by chance on a trip to Knaresborough in January 2023. Our first purchase was a circular Kashqai that fitted perfectly into our living room. James was super helpful, pulling out rugs from his Aladin's cave of a shop that he felt would fit well with our room. That he knew the stories embedded within the rugs, where they came from and how they were made all added to the richness of what we were buying. Inevitably there was a problem. The chosen rug was also perfect for our newly redecorated front room. So our house was still one rug short. There was a beautiful Gabbeh that had been our second choice, but unfortunately some other lucky person had already bought this. James and Anna went on the lookout for another rug in a similar style for us. When we received photos of a new rug in stock we put a reserve on it immediately and headed to Knaresborough. Owning these rugs is like having a work of art on your floor. More recently we have bought 3 runners for our hallways and dining room. As I read this, I feel a warning is due. Unless you want to risk a rug addiction like mine, please think carefully about visiting their fantastic shop with its friendly and knowledgeable owners.

Just bought a beautiful rug from Burnside Rugs. James and family were incredibly helpful in finding us the perfect rug and letting us try a few out at home. The quality and price are really very excellent and I couldn't recommend more. Will definitely be back for our next rug soon!
