We’ve just got home from a lovely stay! We had 7 nights on one of the touring caravan super pitches, we had a very warm welcome on arrival, the pitch was great, the toilets and showers were kept clean and always had toilet roll (until the last night but that is down to feral children and the parents not watching them not a reflection on the site!) and the laundry is definitely a great addition with a young child. We didn’t make use of the bar or chip shop so I can’t comment on them however the shop is well stocked and staff friendly and the swimming pool was brilliant, most days we used it we had it to ourselves and our son made very good use of the water slides. The quiet location was perfect for us, a beautiful view but close enough to lots of things to keep you busy with young children. We will definitely visit again in the future.
Arrived little before 2 , Receptionist was lovely and checked us in and gave us directions to tent area.. Great pitching area with stunnung views Shower /toilet block within 5 minutes walk from furtherst point. Cleaning staff did a fabulous job keeping this clean as some other guests where not hygenic in the slightist. Entertainment on site, could get busy but did have a conservatory area which was great for ua as had a dog as well . Swimming pool.and games room for the younger ones as well Fish and chips on site as well as shop which sold your basics Was slighty windy on the last night and On top field.on top of the cliff , we felt it through the tent so worth a watch out with weather Overall highly reccomend this site 5 stars
Stayed two nights for bank holiday weekend from the Saturday. Straight away you could see the overflow was overcrowded. There was 8-10 porta-loos which were absolutely disgusting. Often no toilet roll, left in a mess, the smell was over bearing, only seen them cleaned once a day. By evening they were that bad you couldn't use them. Bar was rowdy and very busy, drinks were limited. Fish and chips shop ran out of food by 7 we were told to go back at 8.30. The site was noisy late at night, especially Sunday night with loud music blasting. Shouting from other parties. The noise from the main road was also very loud (even though we weren't anywhere near the sides of the site) Kids didn't get a chance to go to the pool as it was full .. Too many people in at once it was hectic. Only positive was the area was so close to Scarborough. The supermarket was reasonably priced with friendly staff
Tent with hook up, right next to the play park. Noisy until 11pm, one night teens on there at 3am had to tell them to leave the area, got a mouthful back. No signage or staff monitored the play area. Fence was broken next to our tent so I fixed it, got kicked in again within a day used as a short cut. Toilet block dirty due to amount of people on site. Pool OK if you go at quiet times. Bar doesn't provide tap water have to buy bottled. Overall enjoyed our stay as great location to Filey and Scarborough however wouldn't return due to issues noted above.
Electric hook up pitch was as expected, the onsite chippy was decent and location was great for Scarborough, Filey and Whitby. However, the facilities were grim. Toilets/showers were not cleaned regularly enough for the number of guests using them. Considering the number of staff at the pool, the toilets, changing rooms and poolside were filthy. Lifeguards spent most of time staring at the wall rather than pool users.
