No accessible play equipment, so not good for families with disabled children. It was a 2 person job to enable the disabled child to use the roundabout and see-saw, no chance using the slide or swings. Only baby swings available. Not easy for a single mum with 2 children. Disabled child would have just been sat in the wheel chair had I not been there to assist. It's about time that accessible equipment was provided at ALL parks to enable disabled children with single parents to be able to have a fun time and not feel left out.

Harehills park needs a brand new playing area. It’s been neglected for years and needs a revamp and making the space in the playground bigger for the amount of children and families that use it.

Used to be on this park EVERY DAY when I was a young 'un. Playground back in the 60's & 70's was in a different place to where it is now. It had a high 'Big Slide' with a safety top to stop people falling off as it was quite high up. Used to slide down with a candle behind me, making it like a Toboggan run (very fast slide). Those were the days. Unfortunately because of selfish Vandals (some of who I knew personally!!), the play area was emptied and a new area built near the bottom of the park where there was a Bowling Green and Tennis courts. Happy days and weekends we had though. I cut through the park every day to get to Compton road and pass an old square stone which myself and a friend (George Lawrencine) used as Cricket Stumps. George is a Doctor now, so I don't get to see him anymore. Sad really. Lots of happy memories I have of Harehills Park. Kev Vickers. 👁️👁️👁️😄😄😄
