Excellent place. I have gone there for the first time and found that is a great place for study.
The university provides 4,500 bedrooms in a variety of locations and all first year undergraduates are guaranteed a place in university accommodation, so long as Leeds Beckett University is the student's first choice university. Opal 3 student residences in Leeds city centre are shared with the University of Leeds. Carnegie Village was newly built in September 2010 and provides Passivhaus standard townhouses and apartments at Headingley Campus. The largest hall is Kirkstall Brewery on Broad Lane which has places for over 1,000 students and is about 2 miles (3 kilometres) from the Headingley campus. As its name suggests, it is a former brewery property, but is mostly modern blocks. The second largest is Sugarwell Court, in Meanwood, which is about 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from the City campus, and accommodates 388 students. This is also a converted industrial site.
A great campus! I really enjoyed my time at this university! It’s so peaceful! So many positives that I can’t really list them all here. But the setting of the campus is such that it immediately puts you in a good mood. The ‘acre’ and the surrounding greenery really make the campus a welcoming sight first thing each morning. The facilities are really good, with each classroom decked out with good gear. The library was 24 hours when I was last there and the rooms were also accessible well late into the evenings. The lecture halls are nice and comfortable and the staff across the board seem genuinely friendly and helpful. The only reason I would take a star away from the experience is due to something I once overheard outside a staff room. This was during the time grants were being taken away by the government, along with other benefits for students who came from less privileged backgrounds. A lecturer was semi-loudly saying how she was glad these incentives were being taken away as it would stop ‘these types of students’ coming to the university. I was unfortunately was one of the the students who fell into this bracket as without this kind of help it would have made accessing a university education much more difficult. When she stepped out the staff room her face looked flushed when she saw me standing outside, as she thought no one was outside the staff room as it was outside hours. 😂 Other than this, the university experience for me here was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this campus to anyone! 😊
A place with a lot of green a cosy caffe and restaraunt; there is a library also.
A university with soul - plus this fabulous new sports building…
