Salt Leeds won me over in the first bite. Here’s the thing — I’ve had plenty of shawarmas in my life, but nothing prepared me for the masterpiece this place served. And the hero behind it all? The Indian guy running the grill. Calling him a chef feels too small. The man works like a culinary superhero. You watch him slice, season, wrap — every move sharp, confident, almost theatrical — and you know something special is coming your way. Then the shawarma lands in your hands. Warm. Fragrant. Perfectly balanced. The meat melts, the sauce hits all the right notes, and the whole thing feels like it was engineered to make your day better. Honestly, it tasted heavenly. One of those bites where you stop talking mid-sentence because your brain needs a moment to process the joy. Five stars feel too few. If Salt Leeds keeps this superhero on duty, I’m coming back again and again. ( Sorry we finished the food very quickly and forgot to take photos 😅)
Great little bar, plenty of ale and cider on draught so there’s lots of choice. Books with history on ale and different pubs all over the country. Great place to be in. Pricing is pretty good, there’s loads of seating and outdoor seating also for in the sun. The windows all unfold so that there’s a lovely brea3 through there during summer, with it being in the shade it’s nice and cool. Toilets are clean and industrial style with copper door handles. I love the design of the whole place.
Nice craft beers from Salt brewery, with cocktail taps available on the back wall.
Sep 2022: Stop 9 of Leeds Doggo Ale Trail. Awesome choice of craft beer! We had Siren: Breakfast Stout 6.5% and Salt: Tweed cask pale ale 4%
