I don’t know how there are so many good reviews as this was the 4th poor experience dining in and takeaway for us. Ordered a delivery reluctantly as previously dissatisfied (all spice no flavour) but son wanted a curry and we are local. For ease I ordered a chicken steak burger meal which on the menu states ‘Burger with marinated and grilled chicken in Indian style. Meal consists of chips and soft drink’. Burger arrives as a rock hard very flat frozen mushed chicken burger, the type which is like a kids chicken nugget. FRIED not grilled as stated and very expensive for what it was. Also no drink as suggested. Called the restaurant who told me I was wrong, they do not sell chicken burger 😂. I insisted they did and I had it sat in front of me ready for the bin, he asked for my order number, which I gave then he ended the call. I called back several times to which they did not answer. I’m going with the idea that they went next door to crispy and got the burger from there. UPDATE : I did contact you and reach out on your WhatsApp service when I could not get a response on the telephone. They’re not interested in rectifying anything, all details were sent over. You cannot call this ‘taking pride’ in your food as you call it. While there are good reviews as you say, there are also plenty poor reviews
Brilliant Indian food. Excellent service by Gavin. Service was pretty quick. Quality was good. Would highly recommend.
What we ordered: Jug of Mango Lassi, Pav Bhaji, Samosa Chaat The jug of Mango Lassi was good, so was the Pav Bhaji. The jug could be enough for 5 people. It tasted fresh. Pav Bhaji was warm but I wish the pav was bigger or there was more of it. Also, the small slice of lemon is not enough for the onions. But overall it was still good. I would recommend both of these, even if you’re trying Indian food for the first time or not! What I didn’t like was Samosa Chaat- I couldn’t taste samosa at all, all I was tasting was hing (asafoetida) and peas (chana or chickpeas but tasted like peas, maybe overcooked?). It’s a big place with plenty of seats, however as soon as we were seated they kept reminding us that we had to order soon as a big group was coming in. We ordered quickly but after a while no waiters came by. I wanted a spoon but had to wait for my friend to finish her samosa chaat to use the spoon :/ My friend who was trying samosa chaat for the first time liked them but not me. The images hanged on the wall kept us wondering who the actors were as they look so ai generated. There is good vegetarian options, some seem expensive. However, we were offered with student discount.
We originally had our sights set on another restaurant for our friend’s birthday treat, but since we couldn’t get a reservation, we ended up at Bombay 2 Goa—and it honestly didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere was cozy and perfect for a casual celebration. The staff were warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make our visit special. To our surprise, they even brought out a slice of cake for the birthday, which was such a thoughtful and sweet gesture . Every dish was full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented. It turned out to be a hidden gem that we were glad to have discovered. We’ll definitely be back!
