Senior Project Planner (Remote)

Our client, a renowned Independent Power Producer (IPP), is seeking a Senior Project Planner to support the successful delivery of cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. This role is instrumental in ensuring seamless project execution from inception through to completion, contributing directly to the clean energy transition. Key Responsibilities: Plan and monitor full project lifecycles, reporting progress to senior leadership and project managers. Coordinate schedules, costs, and resource models, including developing “what-if” scenarios to mitigate project risks. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align timelines and validate contractor schedules. Analyse schedule and cost variances, ensure SIMOPS compliance, and recommend corrective actions to meet deadlines and budgets. Support progress reporting, baseline schedule development, and risk management processes. Contribute to lessons learned documentation and project closeout activities. Experience & Qualifications: Proven experience in project planning within Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects. Strong expertise in schedule coordination, cost forecasting, and earned value management. Solid understanding of SIMOPS, contractor schedule validation, and risk analysis. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and PowerBI. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proactive mindset with a strong focus on delivering high-impact renewable energy projects.
