About the Opportunity We are recruiting for multiple Property & Liability underwriting positions in Leeds with a leading UK insurer. Available Positions: 1. Mid Market Senior Underwriter - Property & Liability (New Business) 2. New Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability 3. Existing Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability (Multiple Positions) 4. Senior Existing Business Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability Key Responsibilities (Across Roles): Underwrite Property and Liability business within agreed authority levels and guidelines Build and maintain strong broker and customer relationships across the regional market Manage your own portfolio to deliver growth, retention, and performance targets Provide technical support, guidance, and (for Senior role) coaching to team members Collaborate with internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes Make sound technical and commercial underwriting decisions Maintain FCA compliance and underwriting governance standards Essential Requirements: Proven Property and Liability underwriting experience in commercial or mid-market space Strong broker-facing and relationship management capabilities Technical decision-making ability with commercial mindset Good understanding of FCA regulation and underwriting governance Experience working within large or complex insurance organisations For Senior Role: Leadership experience with proven coaching and mentoring capabilities Benefits Package: Competitive salary with performance-based bonus (8-10% depending on role) Generous pension scheme – up to 14% employer contribution 29 days holiday plus bank holidays (option to buy/sell up to 5 days) Private medical benefit Up to £1,200 free shares per year through Matching Share Plan Save As You Earn share scheme Up to 40% discount on company products and other retailer discounts Hybrid working model (minimum 50% office-based in Leeds) 3 paid volunteering days annually Flexible benefits including sustainability options (cycle to work) Comprehensive parental and carer's leave policies Wellbeing support and tools
