Leeds Railway Station Short Stay APCOA Car Park

After paying £12.70 for a short stay, the heavens opened the sort of rain you only get on the Pennines, I parked on the top floor thinking it may have a nice view so I was drenched just getting into the car. I arrived at the ticket barrier to find it was impossible in my car to reach the machine, so after unbuckling my seatbelt and stepping out the car to insert the ticket the barrier went up, I jumped back in as quick as 64 year old legs would allow and dashed through the barrier stopping for precisely 10 seconds across the road to refit my seatbelt. My mistake apparently it's a no stopping zone, how I could have seen the signs in that rain I do not know, the result a fixed penalty . I hope if I live to 100 I will never visit Leeds again. The trains are impossible only about one in three ever run and if you ever get there no chance of getting home. What a disaster of a place.

Secure and safe car park right next to the train station. Under £20 for the whole day well worth it as the location is central

Aug 2024 - Work in progress! As part of the make over, what used to be a terribly small turning area, now uses the old short-stay carpark. This speeds things up a little *if both cars AND taxis* foll the markings on the road! Taxis keep left and the cars (drop-off) keep right, closest to the pavement. Hopefully the whole area will be better when it completed (and maybe a free bus link to the Leeds central bus station 1/2 a mile away!!!

The location of ticket machine is a problem. While turning into the car park, it is difficult to reach the button to get the entry ticket and same problem on exit.

The car park feels claustrophobic when you drive, but it is functional and cheap, you can stay around 10 mins for free, last time I spent 20mis and I only paid £0.17
