I just saw on the NHS website "accepting new patients and out of area registrations" WTH I waited about two hours in walk-in section of surgery because I couldn't use the rubbish app. Also previously more than once on hold for SEVERAL HOURS trying to get through on the phone only to get to no 1 in the queue and call is hung up ! I worked out how to use app and I arranged an appointment. Nothing to select any date/s. I finally see there was an appointment at some point but had my old mobile on their system (not their fault). No letter sent. I changed my mobile no' on my personal details on the app. Now I've had no response at all despite requests for an appointment. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE, LAST TIME ANYONE DID THEY REFUSED TO HELP. THIS DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO COPE WITH THE HUGE AMOUNT OF PATIENTS AS WITNESSED PREVIOUSLY, LET ALONE TAKE ON MORE ! I want to add I was refused a checkup by walk-in surgery. Sent to A&E for a scan. Then after waiting 8hrs told after a very basic check up that could have been done at the surgury. That they couldn't do scan as not in their budget and has to be refered by GP.
Very impressed with all the staff at this facility! My local GP is not very good at all and I was at my wits end as my elderly Mother was very ill and wasnt receiving the help she needed. Parking at the site is limited, but a kind attendant allowed me to park in a staff space whilst I escorted my Mum into the practise, he said he'd come and get me if it needed to be moved. The receptionist was our next positive experience, calm, professional, efficient. She understood our issues clearly and put our minds at rest that due to my Mother's age and condition she would try to get us seen as quickly as possible, she was very kind. Within 10 minutes a friendly, happy nurse called us through and once again we were met with professionalism and efficiency. Temperature and blood pressure taken, initial inspection, notes on the system, kind concerned manner throughout, job well done! The Doctor then arrived and I have to say he was a total legend! Great bedside manner, knew his stuff inside out, thorough examination, took his time to make sure he'd covered off all questions and understood all symptoms. Went over my Mums medical history and the blood tests she'd had previously. We had a full diagnosis and prescriptions issued inside 10 to 15 mins. The Doctor eminated confidence and my Mums concerns we're fully addressed! After a useless visit to our own GP with a registrar who failed to diagnose shingles, six hours in A&E the day before with my 87 year old Mother before she eventually discharged herself after telling me she'd rather die at home, the experience of the Shakespeare walk in clinic was like night and day! I cannot praise this place highly enough, this is what a medical practise should be like. Kind, capable, professional people doing their jobs above and beyond, from the car parking attendant to the Doctor! A massive well done from me!!!! Thank you so much!!!
Went in on Saturday and they were amazing. I had been in pain since bank holiday weekend and they managed to advise me it was a urine infection and get antibiotics ordered to pharmacist and considering it was a Saturday there was barely any waiting around. The Dr who saw me was lovely and explained everything really well. The only person who could maybe do with more training is the receptionist, when it was my turn she was just staring at me, no Hello, no introduction just staring until I was like can I go. Super unprofessional but that’s reflective of her and doesn’t affect the rating I’d give the practice.
Walked in waited hour to be seen by triage nurse who just asked the usual name age etc and then told me it would be 3 hour wait but standing room only! I left and sourced my own antibiotics! Next time I will get appointment at the vets - I'll get treatment I need plus a pat on rhe head & a treat. Having spent 25 years working in nhs - it certainly wasn't perfect but post covid I could weep for it
I've been a patient here for over 2 years and have found it extremely difficult to get appointments here and when you do get an appointment it's very rushed and you only get to spend 5 minutes with them which is not enough time when you've got multiple problems to be dealt with. The reception team are helpful and always find jodie and the rest of the team helpful but to be fair they are rushed off their feet as it's a very busy surgery that has to deal with a lot of patients. I don't have any problems with getting repeat medication that's always sorted out on time and while the doctors and nurses are good it's just very hard to get an appointment here and it's been made harder for me now that everything is done online.
