Wm. Dodgson & Son Funeral Services

My dad was sadly taken from me on the 15/10/2025 and I will forever be heartbroken because of this .. he wasn’t just my dad , he was my best friend.. for years he told me what to do, how to plan a funeral, but even though I knew what to do I still felt like I was unsure , i chose wm Dodgson and son and went with it as it was close to my dads home .. I met a woman there by the name of Charlotte. I’d like to thank her for really helping me through this difficult time. I didn’t know how to feel or understand why my dad was taken from me .. I’ve never really lost anyone that I’m close to. Losing my father felt like I had lost myself and still do feel that way. But Charlotte helped me through this journey of understanding. Charlotte helped me with the planning of my dads cremation and I couldn’t thank her enough for everything . She truly helped me at my lowest and I say thank you. Seeing my dad, in that beautiful blue gown and still looking so handsome . Made me tear up. He was looked after, cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The service was grand. Thank you Charlotte for everything .

I couldn't recommend Quinns more highly. They offered a very comprehensive and compassionate service and were very attentive. Both Michelle and Tina were excellent.

I cannot recommend Dodgsons funeral services enough. From the moment of first contact they were just brilliant and made what is a sad and stressful time for the family so much easier. Both Helen and Kirsty at the funeral office were fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure the actual funeral day went off without a hitch. We were listened to and all requests were fulfilled. Even the staff at Lupton avenue looking after my father prior to the funeral were so professional and compassionate and really seemed to care about my father and the family- we all felt he was very well looked after which was comforting during the long run up to the funeral. I would definitely use this company again should the need arise. I really can't fault them and thank them all for making us and my father proud on funeral day.

I have no hesitation in recommending this service. I am exceedingly grateful to Mikela for all her help and advice when arranging the funeral for my late mother. All my requests, and concerns, were addressed with diligence and kindness . As a result the whole funeral was just as I wanted it to be. I would also like to acknowledge the celebrant, Anna Fill, who was professional and sincere. The whole family and our friends would like me to thank you all.

Excellent service by Dodgson. Following the passing of my mum, they were brilliant from the start. When they called initially to collect mum from her home, Andy and Paul were immediately compassionate and professional. We then met with Andy to discuss arrangements. Again, the feeling was that he really knew what he was doing and that he was dealing with my mum as a person rather than just a body. Whilst it’s natural to worry about whether everything will go to plan on the day, Andy instilled confidence and I knew it would be alright. He also suggested a celebrant, Vanessa, who met with us to find out about mum and then delivered a lovely eulogy at the funeral. It seems a little strange to recommend a funeral director as we all hope that we don’t have a need for them anytime soon but I have no hesitation recommending Andy and his colleagues at Dodgson. Absolutely great throughout.
