I underwent hip surgery all the staff were amazing from the reception staff to the surgeon/consultsnt, all the nurses, the physio lady and the lady in X ray department the cleaners were friendly and encouraging. I was so well looked after... all the nurses looked after me so welll ď
I had an operation in the spires hospital and I would highly recommend. The staff are all so friendly. The catering team were fantastic. Always offer hot drinks, good food and all served in high quality crockery. All served with a smile. Doctors and nurse so friendly. I had an over night stay and felt like I was in a hotel. It was very busy and I didn’t feel like I was not getting the attention I needed. Thank you to everyone!
Exceptional Care and Professionalism I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at SLH, following my wife’s recent outpatient back injection procedure. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, compassion, and efficiency. The doctors and nurses were thorough in explaining the procedure, answering all our questions, and ensuring my wife felt comfortable and reassured throughout the process. Thank you once again to all the staff for making what could have been a stressful experience completely positive.
What a disaster. We tried to do business but couldn’t. The consultation with the eye surgeon was excellent. He gave us a price range and told us to call his secretary for operation dates and the hospital reception for prices. Reception told us to call the call centre for prices. The secretary told us she only dealt with NHS and was extremely defensive and aggressive. We called Leeds Spire but the call was answered by the Newcastle call centre. They told me that the consultant did not have a private secretary. I said that that means we can’t book an operation, then? She agreed and apologised. I asked how much it was and she told me we’d have to book first and then they’d tell us. I asked for dates and she put us back to Spire Leeds reception. Once back in Leeds I explained the secretary debacle and she gave me the private secretary’s number – the same as the one we called. She then said she’d contact the consultant and get him to sort it out. I asked when would the first available date be. She said that can be answered only by the private funders team. She put me through and the line went dead. I called again. Newcastle answered. I asked for the private funders team and he asked me to repeat all of the details before putting me through. Eventually I got through to the private funders team. “How can I help you…” Of course I had to repeat everything for the umpteenth time. I asked how much the operation was. He refused to say until we booked. I said that’s nuts and need to know how much. He disappeared for a few minutes only to come back with an estimate a third HIGHER than the price suggested by the consultant. I asked when was the next available date. He didn’t know and said that information would be available later in the process – once the commitment had been made. Imagine selling a house: “commit to buying it and then I’ll tell you where it is and how much I want for it.” An utter mess. We looked at private for professionalism and efficiency. Once we walked out of the consultant’s office we got rudeness, inefficiency, incompetence, bait and switch pricing and obfuscation. Never again.
Absolutely amazing service and care I received today for my gallbladder removal with Professor Toogood. I was looked after from start to finish by all the staff especially Staff nurse Emma who cared for me amazingly. Cannot thank them all enough also Mr Morgan the anesthetist who really reassured and calmed me ready for the operation. You are all fantastic and thanks so much. Oh yeah the room was brilliant as well see the pics.
