This was unfortunately the worst airport and boarding experience we’ve ever had when departing from Gran Canaria — and we’ve flown many times before. Due to an organisational mistake, both the Jet2 and TUI flights were directed to the same boarding gate (Gate 28). The TUI flight was scheduled for 15:20, and our Jet2 flight was delayed, yet both groups of passengers were forced into one very small boarding area that is barely suitable for a single plane. Mistakes can happen — I fully understand that. What made the situation truly bad was the behaviour of the Jet2Holidays ground staff, especially one older, completely bald gentleman who was extremely rude and unhelpful instead of trying to ease the situation. Rather than advising passengers to step away for 30–40 minutes and return after the TUI boarding had finished, we were pressured to remain cramped in an overcrowded space. I was travelling with an autistic child who struggles greatly in unexpected, stressful and noisy environments. We were told there was a “special assistance area”, but it was already overcrowded — there were many wheelchair users from both flights, and they were also occupying most of the standard seating space. This created chaos, crying children, stress, and unnecessary anxiety for many families. What was most disappointing was that the staff — whose services we effectively pay for as part of our tickets — were not only unempathetic, but in some cases outright rude. Instead of helping calm the situation, they pushed their frustration onto passengers, including the most vulnerable ones. This experience should never have happened. Better organisation and basic respect for passengers — especially children and people with special needs — is the minimum that should be expected from an airline.

We are 5 people with no bags in the overhead bin, yet we were not allowed to put our jackets in the bin!! And I was trying to tell this to the flight attendant, but she rude and loud, as if I don’t understand what she is saying. This happened in the flight to paris on 21 Sep. I think it is my right to put our jackets in the bin and not in the dirty place where I put my shoes on (in the front of my seat), & it is not my problem if other passengers brought more carryons that what they should. Finally, flight attendant should be more polite.

Jet2 holidays are probably the best option if you want a package holiday to Europe, but be aware of the the room and hotel descriptions as they are all provided by the hotels, so can be a bit more flattering than the reality. You do still need to do independent research on location and what’s actually included- don’t assume all inclusive actually includes all ! I would also advise that room upgrades you pay for in advance with jet 2 need double checking that you’re getting what you are paying for- as the specs don’t always match reality, Jet 2 service is pretty much second to none, the aircraft are pretty good and nearly always on time and the staff are very good. I’ve never known luggage not to arrive. Definitely better than other options. The prices are good , particularly if you can tweak your dates and length of stay sometimes 11 nights can be cheaper than 10 ! All in all i wouldn’t book a package holiday with anyone else and as long as you’re aware of the limitations I would highly recommend them.

We booked Villa Oahu in Albufeira through Jet2holidays and Solmar Villas, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, we found the property to be in a poor condition — it was not clean, had visible damage, and did not reflect the images shown in the listing. Due to concerns about hygiene and overall suitability, we felt it was not possible to stay there and had to make alternative accommodation arrangements. Jet2 and Solmar Villas refused to take responsibility. We were passed back and forth, offered no help, no alternative accommodation, and no refund — despite Jet2 staff saying even they wouldn’t stay there. We had to pay for alternative accommodation ourselves. What should’ve been a relaxing family holiday to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary was ruined. The in-resort compensation offered — a mere £195 — was entirely insufficient and did not reflect the seriousness of the disruption we experienced. Needless to say I declined this offer. No alternative accommodation was provided, leaving us with no choice but to arrange and pay for it ourselves. As such, we incurred significant out-of-pocket expenses. Avoid Villa Oahu and be very cautious with Jet2holidays or Solmar Villas. If something goes wrong, you’re on your own.

We had a weeks holiday booked in Lloret de Mar, shortly after arriving my partner suffered an insect bite which under normal circumstances wouldn’t be an major issue however, she had a severe reaction to this to such an extent that we had to curtail our holiday and head home. I spoke with Adam on the 24 hour Jet2 helpline, he couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful, excellent service. Just three hours after making the call to the helpline we were on the next flight home. I really couldn’t speak any higher regarding the service and attention we received. Five stars all round.
