Popped in today for our first visit. Friendly greeting as we entered and were given time to wander around and find some book treasure. When we got chatting at the till we realised they published books too. We then picked up a few or the books they published by local authors to add to our haul. We'll definitely be back.

Philip Howard Books is a great independent bookshop in North Leeds. The owners have customer service down to a T. They can recommend books and have a speedy ordering service should the book you want not be in stock. There is a good selection of all genres in the shop, with a particular emphasis on Local Interest books and Sport (especially Rugby: the owners also publish a rugby magazine). If you are a student or in a Book Group you qualify for a discount. Highly recommended.

Cant emphasise enough how brilliant they are. Managed to get a book l have had on order at a well known bookstore and online retailer for over 6weeks in less than 24hrs for me. Made one birthday boy very happy. Thankyou.

Fabulous little book shop. I think it’s been on the same parade for years. The owners always seem to have time for a chat, though if you’re in a hurry, best avoid any Rugby League chat, you’ll be in there for days!
