⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good store and helpful staff, but one issue Overall, Home Bargains at the Leeds Merrion Centre is a great store — good range of products at excellent prices. The majority of the staff are bright, friendly, and helpful, especially first thing in the morning when the store opens at 7am. However, there’s one concern I’ve noticed on a few Monday mornings. The girl on the till seems very disengaged — barely scanning items, not speaking, and appearing half-asleep. Unless there’s a genuine medical reason, I think the manager should have a quiet word, as this kind of customer service doesn’t reflect the otherwise high standards of the store.
It's my favourite shop ever, pack of variety stuff which is helpful. I really love the energy I've seen from the staff working here, but as a customer I always want to feel respected and appreciated. Since, I noticed one of the worker in this shop is quite rude for starring and looking down on his customer I didn't feel good about this. You know who you are please stop being racists and treat your customer in professional manners. We are not in thesame position, as I worked with a professional people, I should just ignore your presence but I can't take it because that is my favourite shop. When I was on the till, I saw you, you've been served the white girl in a nice way, then I was the next one and you spoke to me with awful unfriendly customer service, threw my stuff in the side. Please be gentle and treat your customer accordingly.
The products availability and quality is great for the price but few staffs specially at the billing counter are racist. They show subtle racism to non Brits which truly is awful. They don't even bother to greet the customers who aren't British but I've noticed they always greet other customers in the line. This happened several times. I suggest you to train your staffs in a professional manner or please hire the mature ones.
Edit: I have to edit my comment because I came back today with the random need of cardboard box because I have been in Leeds only for holidays and I bought too much stuff and Christmas presents for my family and now those don’t fit all in my luggage of course 😅 The cashier has been super kind and took time to look for what I needed. Thank you so much for your help, you saved my day! Hopefully someday we have Home Bargains shops in France as well 😊 A large and clean store with low prices. The saleswoman gave me good advice. Thank you!
Last night, I went to Home Bargains with my children. I have been going there for almost 14 years now and I have never experienced this type of interaction with any workers before. We were the first on the till when it opened up and then the worker proceeded to tell us let the other people on the other till to come in our spot. She was talking nonsense and was obviously racist. The guy behind us was also shocked by her behaviour. We are british asians that are hijabis.
