Hayes Seafood in Leeds is a real gem for anyone who loves fresh, high-quality seafood. I tried both flavours of their oysters, and they were absolutely outstanding — juicy, tender, and full of flavour. A touch of Tabasco added a subtle kick that complemented the natural brininess perfectly. At just £1.80 each, they offer incredible value for such freshness. I also had a portion of whelk, which was tender, well-prepared, and very satisfying. Every item I tried clearly reflects their commitment to quality and freshness. The crabs are excellent too! Be prepared to wait a bit — but it’s worth it, as the crabs are clearly a crowd favourite and one of their specialties. Fresh, delicious, and totally worth the hype. 🦀🦪 For anyone seeking excellent seafood in Leeds, Hayes Seafood is highly recommended.
On the day we visited, they had two types of oysters: one with a stronger seawater flavor and another creamier and slightly sweet. We loved both! At only £1.80 per oyster, it was really good value. The crab shell was pre-cracked for us, packed with delicious roe — absolutely fantastic. Truly a hidden gem for seafood lovers.
Absolutely amazing. Me and my colleague nipped in at our lunch break as we were craving some oysters we had 10 oysters in total plus ended up trying some crab meat and snails as well. All very fresh can’t recommend enough. Will be back!
Delicious seafood assortment. Oysters are crisp and fresh (sweet oysters are my personal favourite and salty is my boyfriend’s). Aside from the marvellous oysters, the sea whelks are a must try! Prices are very affordable too.
