On Tuesday I went into the Sports Direct Headrow Leeds and after browsing and then choosing a pair of trainers to purchase, the staff said they were closing ( 6.50pm and the shop closed at 7pm ) and so would not allow me to purchase the trainers. I decided I would come back the next day (Wednesday). I did so. I went back to the shelf where so had seen the trainers and looked for a member of staff to get me the size 6 but there was no one about. I walked to the tills. The store is large and even on the way to the tills, I could not see any staff to help me. While waiting in the queue the till staff member, seeing the trainer in my hand, rudely told me if wanted to purchase the trainers I needed to talk to staff in the shoe department. I told her there was no one about. She said I needed to find someone. I told her I had looked and there was no one about. She rudely said she couldn’t help me but would use her radio to contact someone to help me. I made my way back to the shoe dept and we came across 2 staff members and asked for their help. We were met with the same aggressive response. When my friend asked to see the manager, one of the staff said she was the one in charge. She too was rude. The customer service of the staff is diabolical at this store. I decided not to make a purchase. Not only is it difficult to find staff on the shop floor, the ones you do find need to be trained to know how to speak to customers and be helpful. I felt violated. Horrible experience.
Went on a Sunday afternoon and bought something from Game. The staff were nice and friendly and the store was large but there weren't many staff at the checkouts (which wasn't good for us as we were in a bit of a rush at the time)
Popped into Sports Direct in Leeds for the first time with my partner. Gotta say, it was a bit of a mixed bag 😕 We were initially looking for a Leeds football jersey, but unfortunately, they don't stock them at all. It's a bit surprising for a sports store in Leeds not to carry local team merchandise, so that was slightly disappointing. As an avid volleyball player (I used to be quite the blocker in my day!), I was keen to check out their volleyball section. However, the selection was quite limited. The only volleyball-related items were some balls, and even those were placed on such a high shelf that my 6'2" partner couldn't reach them. This seems like an oversight in terms of accessibility and customer experience. Despite these setbacks, our visit wasn't entirely fruitless. We discovered a game store located above Sports Direct, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. They had a deal on Switch games, two for 20, not bad I guess. We took this offer, picking up a few games for future game nights with our nephew. While Sports Direct didn't meet our specific needs on this occasion, the store itself was clean and well-organized. The staff, though unable to help with our initial requests, were polite and informative. In summary, if you're after general sports equipment, this store might suit your needs. However, for specialist items or local team merchandise, you might want to call ahead or consider alternative options. The unexpected find at the game store upstairs somewhat salvaged our shopping trip, proving that sometimes a bit of flexibility can lead to unexpected positive outcomes. Room for improvement, but not a total loss thanks to the game store discovery. Guess for now, it's game on at home! 🎮
I went there looking for the jumping rope. They have great selections of sports stuff such as shoes, hoodies, jumper, top shirts, backpack etc. But it always feels a bit messy probably because of how they display their products. The price is good as well but make sure to check the price tag since they always have some discount. Saw some staff were talking to customers nicely but I also noticed some staff looked unhappy? If not my friend I don't know the top floor is accessible via stair. But you can take the elevator. Overall it is not hard to find what you need here.
Refused entry 20 minutes before closing. Would have been in and out in the time it took the non-cooperative robot on the door to repeat the point multiple times. Can understand the challenge if not transacting by closing, but why advertise a closing time if you just pick and choose when you stop admitting people. Really poor experience.
