This was a superb spot to grab sweets when changing trains, having many different options in the aisle! I went for the classic Haribo Starmix and Maom Pinballs Purple limited edition that I would recommend; these were very cheap at 89p on offer too and servers were friendly accepting cash here.
There’s a staff member who wears a hijab… honestly, it doesn’t take much to be polite. A simple “hello” or acknowledgment of the customer you’re serving makes a big difference and costs nothing. This is nothing to do with race just common courtesy. I said hello , even asked if she was okay?! Not even a thank you or anything just a vacant disgruntled look, stood and looked at me. Respect should always go both ways, and if someone isn’t willing to offer even basic courtesy, then perhaps working in a customer-facing role isn’t the best fit. Those positions should be filled by people who genuinely want to create a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone. Not cool .
There's a female who wears a hijab... being kind or nice to people will not kill you.. a simple greeting that acknowledges the customer you're serving doesn't take anything away from you. Maybe in your culture & the country you came from people are always rude, but here, show respect to people who show you respect or don't work a job you have to deal with people everyday.. leave it for kind people who don't discriminate against anyone. 🙃 Go and be miserable somewhere else..
A really convenient and easy supermarket in the train station. The shop stays open late and is a great place to grab food when getting a late train home.
Never been treated with such disrespect. Sales Assistant Sohail never acknowledged me and was speaking in Urdu THE WHOLE TIME with the Security Guard and totally blanked me as a customer. I ONLY went to the checkout instead of self service, because I had an energy drink (red bull meal deal) the can had a security tag on the lid and thought it'd save the intervertebral "challenge 21" 🪪. But the lack of respect is indicative of poor management, because this should NEVER have happened. Totally disgusting tbh. Should have gone to Marks and Spencer instead!!! However, I will in future!!!
