Had an amazing stay over in Leeds here at the Briggate Hotel last week. Loved being next door to the viaduct bar and it was within easy walking to the concert. The beds are so comfortable and the room has everything you need. The shower is big enough for all 6 of us 😂. Very clean and well maintained. The coffee machine is a great touch. This is the second visit to the hotel and it certainly won’t be our last. Love that all of us can stay in the same room. Makes me feel like a teenager again having a sleepover ❤️
Really nice stay. The room was big enough and very clean. The bathroom and shower was nice. It is a bit noisy at night (due to the bar downstairs) but that did not bother me as I slept really well. You are provided with ear plugs if you prefer.
Arrived slightly early and the man behind the desk was really kind and let us place our bags behind the bar until check in. The rooms and hotel as a whole were really clean. The room was tidy when we got in and when we needed extra toilet paper and towels the cleaning staff were really helpful and prompt. It’s also significantly quieter than I excepted with it being so close to the train station (I live near a train line) and above the bar below.
We booked for two nights via Booking.com and initially we were ok with the room we had booked (Priscilla). It was abit small bit served for what we needed. We enjoyed our day in Leeds then headed back to the hotel and tried to settle for the night. And that's where things nosey dived. We were aware of the hotels location, that a train line run alongside the hotel so was expecting some noise, however the noise coming from the bar below was beyond ridiculous. It does say that the hotel is located above a "busy bar", however we did not expect thumping base vibrating the entire room until 4am. The building needs some serious sound proofing, as currently it is not fit for purpose in terms of a place to actually get a few hours sleep. We decided to find another hotel for the second night as me and my wife were absolutely shattered thanks to the restless night due to the noise from the bar and then the early morning noise of deliveries and clean up (again hotel needs more soundproofing). At one point the noise outside was so loud we thought the window was open: It wasn't and needs double glazing. Add to the fact there is no receptionist if there is any issues in the night (cough cough noise) or any emmergencies, that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so you have to leave your room to a small, dingy cupboard to make your brew from, and the overall grotty feeling of the entranceway and corridors. I will never come back and I urge anyone looking to stay in Leeds city centre to look elsewhere and only come here if you have no other option. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
This was such a fun place to stay whilst in Leeds for a night out. Really friendly welcome at check in, the room was really fun, the petals on the bed were a great idea and don't so well. The room have everything you needed. The noise from the train line wasn't a bother at all. But the earplugs were a nice touch for the music from downstairs. Location brilliant and had a great night in the viaduct.
