Leonardo Hotel Leeds

I have been to other leonado hotels and really enjoyed the visit but the one in Leeds is not the best. The evening staff at reception were quite rude (the morning ones were nice) and although the rooms are very clean (nothing bad to say about cleanliness) the room air-conditioning is really loud, the beds are okay, a bit soft, and the parking is a good distance away from the hotel, like 15 minute walk. Its alright its not 4 stars though.

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews but me and my partner had a great stay. Room was nice, bed was comfortable (although a touch short, I’m about 5’7 and my feet would poke off the end if I lowered myself even a little from the pillow line) I liked the style of the room as well, and the bathroom was efficient and spacious. Perfect for a short stay and would return again.

Despite the few hiccups the staff was warm and friendly. The accommodation was good and they provided us with complimentary breakfast as soon as they heard our discomfort. The rooms was good sized and great for the price. But just to be mindful on the bed sizing for standard double vs other packages if you are booking as a couple it could be small. Despite me and my friend being petite the standard double could be a bit tight. Overall the short stay here was good for the price.

For the cheap price we paid it was great value. I would.imagine our room 6th floor was for cheaper end prices, I wouldn't.not have wanted to pay over £110 for this room without breakfast. Room basic but great air con. Bathroom awful really but clean and did job for 1 night. Lobby lovely great design and decor. Staff great. Gym which we used was basic 10 min walk to centre but love location on the river

I've seen recent negative reviews for this hotel so I was wary. I would say it's not nearly as bad as those suggest. I do agree that the rooms require an overhaul. The toilet seat did not stay up on its own and sounded like a gun going off the first time it happened. There were dents in the wall that also showed disregard. The staff definitely earned it an additional star. Check-in was done like it was the lady's first of the day and that creates such a huge initial impression. Similar experience at checkout today where you were left feeling like a valued guest. The breakfast area was very spacious and pleasant with plenty of natural light. I find Leonardo breakfast choice standards vary. This was definitely on the better end for variety and the food was very tasty. It was also frequently attended to. The hotel location is a little out of the way but a nice enough area not too far from the train station.
