Pretty standard rooms, relatively quiet, certainly some odd interior design throughout but didn't bother me too much. Good for price.

Lovely budget hotel in a great location right next to Headingly stadium. The staff are excellent and the breakfast is spot on for 7 quid.

Customer service was good - gave me an option for early check it at convenience. However, the room was freezing when I had arrived, actually after the regular check-in as the windows were wide open. Reception lady seemed nice. The hotel itself is dilapidated - the bathroom tiles were cracked, physical key rather than electronic key card, furniture was stained. All minor points. Not sure if the heater was broken, couldn't manage to turn it on, but it was July so perhaps switched off from mains. There was a space heater and fan provided although I didn't notice the heater until I no longer needed it. The room eventually warmed up with the windows shut. However the bathroom floor was cold due to the tiles. Spring mattress was just about adequate, not very comfortable. My main issue was cleanliness. Under the cover was what appeared to be a dropping - in all fairness I did wonder if it was just dirt off my pants - however it did make me uneasy wondering whether there were rodents about. Under the radiators was dust, as well as the top shelf of the closet. On which there were two irons. Guessing maybe one of them didn't work? Regardless there wasn't an ironing board. There were small bits of single hairs on the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom door didn't have a lock, which seems common in hotels but this one wouldn't even shut all the way. Makes using the toilet awkward. However it was a single room so awkward situation avoided. English breakfast was an option in the morning for 7£. Sausages were lovely, bacon was too salty, mushrooms and tomatoes were clearly tinned. All that being said, if it was the cheapest option available, I would probably stay there again.

The rooms were not made when we arrived and had to wait for cleaners to come and make the beds. There was a live socket with bare exposed wires on the wall. The bed headboards were broken. There was no hot water in the shower on our floor so had to go up two floors to find a shower that worked. Shower rooms very dingy and might was flickering on and off which made it difficult to shower. When mentioned to the staff member on reception, she didn’t seem to care. I also overheard a conversation she was having regarding more complaints from customers and didn’t seem to be taking it seriously.

It’s cheap, and you get what you pay for - or don’t pay for. If you’re put downstairs, there’s no hot water in your shared bathroom. The rooms weren’t dirty as such, but i wouldn’t say they were clean. Staff were great tho, seemed very friendly
