Market Town Taverns was founded in 1999 to develop a small, quality chain of bars which are free from brewery tie and offer a wide range of traditional and specialist beers, a good selection of wine and excellent food During 2005, all taverns became entirely No Smoking - the Company was the first bar/restaurant group in the country to achieve this status. Fifteen taverns now operate in North and West Yorkshire and, whilst all are ‘un-themed', they share several common features:- A unique and welcoming ambience A wide range of real ales from independent brewers A superb selection of bottled & draught Continental beers An extensive wine list Quality food prepared in-house Daily and Sunday newspapers Music free bar areas in most taverns Most of our taverns have already featured as CAMRA local pubs of the year and all our taverns are listed in the 2008 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. All taverns have also achieved Cask Marque accreditation. Many of our taverns have separate function rooms and/or dining rooms available for a wide range of events and/or private hire.
