Filmore & Union is a stylish deli and restaurant situated down the famous cobbled streets of York, with a focus on fresh, seasonal and innovative healthy food with an array of gluten-free options that not only taste good but make you feel great too.

Our chic and relaxed restaurant is bursting with character and is housed in one of the city’s oldest buildings; ‘The Song School’, which is the library of the old Minster school founded in 627 by the first Archbishop of York, and was used to educate choristers for York Minster. We have a relaxed café and deli downstairs with a light healthy lunch menu as well as a nutritious take-out range of wraps, salads, fresh juicing, smoothies and organic coffee, and a restaurant upstairs serving seasonal breakfast, lunch and evening a la carte dishes.

With fabulous views of York Minster, Filmore & Union is the perfect sanctuary to take a break from your shopping with a light nutritious lunch packed with flavour; treat your family and friends to an indulgent afternoon tea; or to simply enjoy an organic coffee - or one of our freshly made ‘remedy’ juices - and a delicious homemade cake. Most of our freshly baked cakes are also gluten - and even dairy - free so cake is never out of the question!

Our newly launched afternoon tea also has a healthy twist, boasting three tiers of delicate home baked cakes and scones topped with fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, an assortment of decadent savoury canapes and nutritious freshly-juiced health shots. Our customers with intolerances are in the best possible hands too, as we also offer a 100% gluten-free afternoon tea. And if you want to indulge in an afternoon tipple as well as your tea, then Prosecco is the perfect accompaniment to the canapes and cakes!

And for those who want the food they eat to complement their exercise plan or simply want to improve their diet, then our newly launched Fitness Menu – developed with nutritionally-led personal trainers – tells you what to eat, when, and has everything you need for a pre and post-workout refuel. We’re cycle-friendly as well – there are stands to park your bike just around the corner from us and we offer free water refills and have a bike repair kit on hand for any unforeseen mishaps!

Laden with fur rugs, fresh herb pots and candles, our intimate restaurant with an open kitchen becomes even more special when the sun goes down. Our 100% gluten-free evening a la carte menu is packed with vibrant and innovative dishes with everything from Gilthead sea bream with spiced cauliflower and potatoes and a squash and raisin dressing, to roast chicken stuffed with pistachio, lime and edamame pesto, dressed with a coconut and mango sauce, not forgetting our delectable desserts which includes baked rhubarb with pineapple and rosemary salsa, topped with strawberries and pecan crunch.

So whether you’re looking for an uplifting breakfast of homemade granola or a bagel with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon whilst making the most of the free WIFI; a sumptuous salad or tagine for lunch, or a more indulgent evening meal with a glass of organic wine, we’re the perfect escape from everyday life.
