Immediatley after entering this gym you feel the motivational, old-school atmosphere that modern franchise facilities lack. This isn't the place to do a bums and tums class and go through the motions, it's a dedicated training sanctuary. The equipment is a highlight—they feature specialised, heavy-duty gear (think vintage machines and unique barbells) that serious lifters crave and you simply won't find anywhere else. But the real secret weapon, and what makes this gym truly unique, is the Canine Crew! Having well-behaved dogs on the premises adds an incredible, comforting, and uniquely friendly vibe, this was my personal highlight. They are the best motivation, offering a happy greeting and instantly distracting you from the trauma of the days at work. The only negative is the parking as it is very limited , however this cant be helped. I will be returning regually and hope to compete in their strongman events.
This gym has been my happy place for over a year now. I'm autistic so I've struggled with gyms before but the environment is perfect for me. I've been able to just lock in and do what I need to without any complications or discomfort even when it is relatively busy there. Its clearly a very well run business, equipment is top notch/always plentiful and clean. Perfect variety as well, all sorts of bars and attachments even the obscure ones. I've never felt like I've had to adapt or delay my workout plan because something isn't available. The best part though is there are often dogs around. They're really nice to see. It is always a mood boost to see a dog.
The actual gym is fine, and has all the equipment for strongman, on the other hand went to a competition here and it was a very disappointing, the price is beyond what you pay for other competitions by a large margin, the refereeing was poor for events as rules were not enforced, the information about events was poorly given before hand, and their was favouritism to certain athletes in the competition who had been to the gym before, worst of all the owner didn't really seem to bothered about his own competition, was more concerned with his dog than the running of the competition, i wouldn't go or compete at this gyms comps again personally
Best powerlifting/strongman gym in Leeds. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and the members are top tier. Can get busy in the evenings but just ask if you can share the equipment and people will always say yes. Would definitely recommend to others!
Best gym in Leeds. Nothing more really needs to be said. If you're a powerlifter they have loads of bars both comp spec and speciality, if you're a strongman it has everything you need. Hosts Leeds Strongest Man, regional powerlifting competitions, and has international level competitors regularly training there in a fun (if intense) atmosphere. I've been training here for years and have no plans on stopping. Legends.
