I started swimming lessons at Quarry House as someone who genuinely couldn’t swim at all, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. I’ve had lessons with Kayleigh (and Hannah whilst Kayleigh was on holiday), who have both been brilliant, patient, encouraging, and really good at explaining things in a way that builds confidence. The whole team is incredibly supportive too, people like Max are always helpful and welcoming, which makes such a difference when you’re learning something new. Thanks to the team, I can now swim lengths using front crawl and I’ve progressed from beginner to improver lessons, which I never thought I’d say. I’m so grateful to everyone at Quarry House for the support and encouragement - thank you all!

A great and affordable leisure centre with plenty of activities. My daughter and I both take swimming lessons here, and we’ve had an excellent experience. Nathan has been amazing with my daughter—attentive, encouraging, and always giving helpful feedback that’s really boosted her confidence. Caitlyn has been fantastic as my instructor, offering clear guidance, constant support, and making every lesson enjoyable. If you’re looking for swimming lessons for adults or children, Caitlyn and Nathan are absolutely brilliant.

The gym has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years, all new equipment, ta wide range of assisted machines and free weights, set out specially which makes a workout enjoyable. Kettlebells area, in a sizeable studio and a smart cardiovascular area means you can achieve your targets and goals here, changing rooms cleaned regularly, all revamped recently, with friendly and approachable staff. Highly recommend

An affordable centre for swimming with good facilities. The only issue is the lack of management of the people that book lane swimming. Half of the people attending can barely swim or swim way too fast in the slow lane, making it difficult for others to maintain a steady pace. Others swim half a length and then stand in the middle of the pool trying to catch their breath, essentially becoming a human obstacle fir everyone to swim around. As well as this, there are others who just sit chatting in the shallow end, creating another awkward obstacle. It would be nice if lifeguards or other staff members could try to manage these issues to make it a nice experience for those trying to swim.
