Had breakfast there with my wife recently. The coffee was really excellent and the toasted sourdough with cheese was pretty good too. Portion sizes were good. There was a lovely selection of cakes which I didn't try. However, time taken to complete orders is way too long. There were five people in, including my wife and I, but my coffee arrived 15 minutes later. The food took even longer...around 45 minutes. And our food didn't arrive together. They have one tiny air dryer which can only, apparently, accommodate two pieces of bread. So it's understandable why food takes so long but the decision to run a cafe like this is inexplicable. There was a sign urging people to be patient and I can envisage the wait times being really long if the cafe is full. I also think the menu is very limited...basically cheese on toast in one form or another. Why not smashed avocado on toast, for example? Oh, and they had no pepper! I wish them the best and would be happy to return only if it was half empty.
We originally went to another tea shop in Leyburn today but discovered they weren’t dog friendly. A local recommended this place instead and what a gem it turned out to be! We’re big fans of good artisan coffee, and the owner here really knows how to make it. We had a flat white, an espresso, and two cortados - all absolutely fantastic. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, and she even treated our little dog to a puppuccino - a small cup filled with cream and dog treats- such a thoughtful touch! Yes, you might have to wait a little while, but that’s because each coffee is made with real care and precision. It’s 100% worth the wait. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Yorkshire! Thank you for the great coffees and hospitality!
First off, nice little coffee shop, friendly, and decent coffee, far superior to the commercial brands at least. It took 23 minutes to get 2 take out coffees, the lady was polite, I wasn't rude etc, however, there were only 4-6 other drinks made before my order, and no food, so it wasn't really busy. I understand the lady was working alone, but I find that wait excessive. It was a good coffee though. I'd probably give another try.
We popped in on Sunday having had the cafe recommended for being dog friendly. The owner and her son were both extremely friendly and welcoming. A luxurious pupaccino was prepared for our four legged friend and we enjoyed beautiful coffees, scones and toasted teacakes. The interior is very clean and stylish and a lovely place to relax. We will definitely return again. Thank you 😊
Great coffee and scones plus very dog friendly. Most of the other cafes in Leyburn won’t allow dogs except assistant ones. This place goes out of its way to allow dogs and even offers ‘puppacinos’ for pooches (non-dairy).
