Dreadful battered haddock, as it was overcooked and was probably the greasiest I'd ever come across; the fish was literally dripping in grease as if it hadn't been drained properly. As for the chips, they were really soggy and quite unpleasant. However, the steak pie was very nice and the service was good, but it's cash only. Overall, not great.
Worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Over cooked, falling apart and very greasy. Absolutely awful.
Just had soggy chips and a heavily battered piece of cod. Batter was not very nice at all heavy & greasy. Competitively price though I’d rather pay more for a decent fish & chips.
I love my fish and chips and this place just went to number one in my hit list - taking me right back to my fave chippy in Thirsk. A quick pop in for lunch, but I'll be back for the full monty again. Unfortunately for my husband (who is veggie), they're a traditional chippy cooking in dripping, so no veggie options.
Like some of the other reviews, we must have got them on a bad day. Fish was greasy and soggy, chips were okay. Onion rings were tasty but all clumped together. Sausage was nice. It is cheap though.
