Middleham Racing Tours

We went for our tour on 27th August 2025 with Hayley and absolutely loved it! Before booking my partner emailed Hayley about whether it was suitable for our horse mad 5 year old and Hayley was quick to reply, and say she could tailor it to a younger audience. We met at the local shop in Middleham to start the tour and straight away Hayley was friendly and welcoming. During our tour she was so informative, explaining the history of the area, the different trainers, stables and horses daily activities. We all loved the tour, the views are breathtaking! The knowledge and passion Hayley has just adds to the experience. We highly recommend! Added bonus, she made our daughter a little gift bag for national racing week and it was just so thoughtful. We decided to book a tour after arriving in Middleham for a week’s holiday and realising there was so much to see. Hayley was super accommodating as we booked at short notice, she’s very knowledgeable and passionate about the horses in the sport. Brilliant trip to the gallops where my keen photographer partner got some great shots of the horses working. Would thoroughly recommend doing a racing tour with her to get a real insight to the lovely place that is Middleham. Thank you again Hayley (apologies again for the Rupert hair) our tour was a highlight of our holiday.

Tour was booked for hubby as he loves watching horseracing and I thought he might pick up a few winning tips whereas I have very little interest in the sport and just went along for the ride (pardon the pun!). It was a wet day but Hayley picked us up promptly from our hotel and we immediately felt she was a warm, engaging and very knowledgeable guide. Hayley took us to see the horses ride out and also to a local trainers stable yard to meet some of the horses up close and personal. However it was the information that Hayley shared which was the best part. I was hooked!!! Loved to hear everything from the initial purchase of the horse, the training, the welfare and the race itself. Hayley was able to answer every question with a passion that was clear to see. Can highly recommend Hayley and her tour to both enthusiasts and those with no interest - you will be converted!!!

Really good tour. We found it so interesting and informative, a real insight into the racing industry, and the amazing town of Middleham. Even my husband, who has no interest in horses or racing, thoroughly enjoyed it. The yard visits are great, a chance to meet horses and trainers, all in all, thoroughly recommended!

Had the best time on the tour. Hayley was amazing and has outstanding knowledge. Amazing to be up close to the horses in their stables. Highly recommend this experience, even if horse racing is not your thing it's fascinating to learn all about it.
