The Walking Shop

There were several things in here I would have loved to buy a couple of jackets and a pair of boots but unfortunately dogs are not allowed and my wife also wanted some items and coming in and out while one of us waited outside to hold the dog was too much trouble in the cold, There are plenty of other places around which allow dogs like the shop next door Gilsans sports.

Had visited many times in the past with my dog and purchased some great walking shoes unfortunately on the last visit dogs were not allowed ! Unfortunate as I found the salesman very knowledgeable and helpful won’t return.

I went in to buy a pair of walking boots. The owner helped to kit me out. As an outdoor enthusiast he was very knowledgable about boot selection for the correct terrain and feet size. I have very slim feet size and his advice and guidance allowed me to own a superbly fitting and comfortable all-terrain scarpa boots which I believe will see me through next 10 years. The shop is very nicely stocked and maintained.

I've been looking for my first proper pair of walking boots for a while. Called into The Walking Shop to have a look. Despite having other customers to help, the owner took the time to find out exactly what would be suitable for me based on my level of experience. He obviously knows his stuff. I came away with a very comfortable pair of boots and the feeling that he was more concerned with helping me find the right thing at the right price rather than just trying to sell to me. I've been wanting a new pair of walking boots for a while but can find it difficult to find shoes to fit and felt a bit out of my depth. Popped into The Walking Shop whilst in Leyburn for the weekend and had some incredible advice and guidance, proper measuring and testing to find the perfect fit - without any pressure to buy. The Meindl boots were a revelation and were spot on from the very first wear. So much so that my husband also took the plunge and bought a pair! Thank you to The Walking Shop for wonderful customer service and help, highly recommended.
