Lovely local village pub close to the cottage where we were staying for the weekend. Was a relaxed atmosphere and cosy with a roaring coal fire. The food was delicious - the lamb shank was one of the best I've had.
We usually visit for a pint after cycling around this beautiful Area ,To sit out in the Sun with a lovely pint and the Sunday Roast is one of the Best we have ever had ,Great unchanged Real pub not many left .Update unfortunately called here Today 10/8/25 around 12.30pm politely asked landlord? If was OK to park and go out on our bikes and call back for lunch and a pint , He was really negative and didn't want us there, Well really upsets us we have had some great lunches and creamy pints, So it's a Goodbye from us.
Gorgeous home cooked food, best veggie lasagna, and cosy, friendly atmosphere.
Nice and traditional pub (also hotel?) Perfect pint of Theakstons. Quiet when I visited but that's exactly what I wanted.
Let's keep it simple. Excellent pub, in an excellent location. Brilliant food, and nice accommodation. Nice to stay over for the night and enjoy the pub late into the evening. Staff and locals made us feel very welcome.
