We had such a lovely experience at Penny Hedge. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to help our anxious dog feel calm with treats, encouragement and lots of reassurance - which instantly made us feel relaxed. They also took my nut allergy very seriously, which was hugely appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. It’s easy to get to, has a great seating layout, and the whole atmosphere was spot on. We only wish we lived closer so this could be our local!
What a lovely hotal room was lovely a clean .onsweet bathroom clean towels supplied. Also have a kettle and tea/coffee and hair dryer can't fault anything bed was comfy good choice of breakfast .and food KERRIE lovely young lady very friendy and approachable greeted us when we booked in & Out .Also on breakfast mornings this young lady is a credit to the hotel. And her knowage of the area 100%
Had a lovely dinner at Penny Hedge, we walked in without a reservation and were seated straight away. Our server Carolyn was very friendly and when I couldn’t decide on a pudding she recommended the apple and cherry crumble and I’m SO glad she did! Will definitely be back for our tea again next time we’re in Whitby
Such a warm welcome as soon as I entered. I was unable to get home due to the weather and needed a room- they were able to accommodate me. The room was clean and tidy and the meal was pub food. There were 2 regulars who spoke to me and made me feel welcome - I did not get there names but they did have a dog called Albert. Breakfast was a full English and was very tasty. I would recommend the Penny Hedge and would like to say that all the staff who definitely are a team were excellent. The lady who was on on the evening with Phil was very attentive, interested in me. Credit to the management on who they have working for them but the team itself. I will definitely stay again.
Wonderful overnight stay, room immaculate. Great service and atmosphere in the pub. Rainy day in Whitby and server Carolyn was extremely helpful in suggestions for what to do in Whitby. She also informed me of up and coming events such as regatta. I will be back to visit and be booking hotel again. Thank you
