I have booked the west bunk barn row house for 6 nights from 24th October 2025 for 10 adults and 9 kids. when we reached the accommodation it was not at all cleaned and purely unhygienic as the dead bird on the kitchen floor, dead bugs on the carpet and bedding. We have travelled almost 600 miles to reach the stay which we hope it should be clean and safe. Our kids are feel terrified and we have tried to contact the owner which he is not responding at first, after several attempt he pick up the call and talking with us rudely. He told that he can come and pick up the dead bird and bugs from the floor and bedding. we refused to stay at the accommodation and we left it as it is not feel safe to stay there. We have booked this accommodation through Skyes cottage which we have raised a complaint about the accommodation with the images. I am expecting my hard earned money to refund to my account since we haven't stayed at this accommodation even a single night. We have been travelled to multiple places and stayed in a wide variety of accommodation in uk for the past 6 years and we have never had any unfortunate situation like this. I do not have a hope about my money to be returned by this gentleman for not giving a clean and safe home. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION!!!!!

Positives: It's a lovely, peaceful spot, with plenty of parking. Great access to bridleways and walks straight from the door. The barn is pretty well equipped - 2 decent showers and toilets and the kitchen is well kitted out, with a nice big communal space downstairs. Good value for money. Perfect for larger groups, especially cyclists as the Dales Bike Centre is close by, and there are lots of on and off-road route options. Good wi-fi. Negatives: Inside, it's a little dark. The stairs are very creaky, which isn't great when you're trying to sleep! The dorms are large and were quite dusty and cobwebbed, and the mattresses weren't very comfy, so didn't get the best night's sleep. The location is a little isolated, lots of small roads to get here, but it's worth it! Just take everything you need with you!

Bunk beds really only suitable for children, mattresses extremely worn and uncomfortable, floor boards sound like they are going to collapse everytime someone walks across them.

Good campsite in a great location for walking. But could do with more toilet facilities if a large number of campers.
