I can start off by saying location is fantastic, just off the motorway however my sat nave took me to the tradesmen entrance. Upon my arrival I signed the relevant paperwork. Was given my card and pointed to my room No other information was given, I understand there is a book in your room but it's nice to hear someone tell you. Room was beautiful and very clean, roasting hot as well. I booked in for 3 nights. I was hungry so I went to the bar for food and was met by a young lady called Ebony. Very helpful, polite and answering all of my questions. I also forgot my ug to charge my phone and had one in hand within 20 seconds of learning my dilemma. Now for the not so good bit. The pool area was a bit dirty. The pool was freezing ❄️🥶 I book hotels so I can swim, sadly I only stopped one night and decided to call it a day and went back home (3 hour drive) I normally stay at the clumber park hotel which is absolutely buzzing with people to talk to. The menu at the clumber park hotel is huge and very well priced. Sadly the menu at this hotel is basic however, what I did eat was made to perfection (thank you chief) I just wasn't enjoying my stay, in fact I almost left that night.
Just returned from a Spa weekend with the missus which we booked a week or two ago before new year. Overall we had a good stay and we rated it 4 / 5 - I thought it would be useful to break this down for others: Food - 5/5 - we had the three course set menu - food was actually better than we expected - goat's cheese mousse with little citrus gel things; followed by Beef shin and then a really good luxurious apple crumble. Food was well presented, hot, tasted really good and the service in teh restaurant was great. The breakfast was also good the next day with good ingredients. Spa experience - 4/5 - the treatments were good and the outdoor hot tub was a nice little treat Leisure faciliities - 3/5 - pool, sauna, steam room and spa pool were all ok - looked a bit tired though and the water was cool. It was a little generic. also the mens doesn't have lockers you can use a coin like the ladies to lock your stuff - there was no communication about this and I ended having to put my clothes in a locker with no lock and give my valuables to reception to hold. Not ideal - take your own lock!. Rooms - 2.5/5 - the rooms were large, warm and clean but they did feel a bit tired and dated. The showers had a curtain and it kept sticking which wasn't great. Not the best. Overall a mixed experience but predominantly good. Not super cheap and not super experience just middle of the road from a price perspective. Not sure we'd rush to go again for an overnight stay but there were some good highlights and would visit again for restaurant or day spa.
We recieved a customised gift card for a 3 course meal with wine along with a separate voucher for drinks to the value of 40 pounds. We had the meal and wine which left alot to be desired when leaving we paid for the excess cost over the meal voucher and left the drinks voucher by accident. When I enquired the following day if the restaurant still had the voucher I was told it had been processed and was no longer valid. If we didnt have the drinks why is it acceptable to process the voucher would not recommend a business that treats its customers with such little regard charging for drinks we never hard isnt that dishonest.
Horrific experience from start to finish- please do not book this through Spa Seekers as you will have no room, np bookings and just be placed somewhere and forgotten about. The hotel is shabby and staff are disorganised. The complaints process was even worse- I was ignored until incorrectly sent a job offer meant for someone else and then sent a complete lie about our stay! It is rare that i leave negative feedback as you will see from my google reviews but please do NOT stay here. We eventually were given a faulty room after having to proove our booking existed, so although we eventually had somewhere to stay, this room was horrendous for the price we paid. We didnt recieve any of the perks from our package and the dining situations were awful. We waited 55 minutes for a drink and starter. The spa called 2 days before to change our hot tub time (so obviously our booking did exist), then when we arrived at the later time, there was no record of the person who made this call so we were given 5pm - not ideal with a dinner reservation at 6 and unable to check in until after the spa. Of course, this didnt matter so much as no one had actually booked our dinner reservation! I must stress that we spoke with a lovely family who had their daughter's wedding there the night before who spoke of their horrendous experiences too, so we were not the only disappointed guests. Avoid.
8/10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spacious rooms with amazing huge beds! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful with lovely views out onto the garden. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere around the hotel. Perfect for a peaceful stay. Sauna and steam room were great, pool facilities quiet and clean but hot tub was freezing cold. However for the price of £80 which we paid we got free breakfast and a wonderful stay- great value for money. Would reccomend. We will be back soon.
