Quick drive through Malton today with partner and dogs. Fancied a light lunch and ended up here not sure what to imagine. It was wonderful and im not easily pleased 😅the ploughman's was worth triple the price and my doggies were spoilt rotten. Staff were very friendly and took a lot of pride in their work. All the other customers were very friendly. Shame we dont live close by. But thanks.
Tea out tonight, at the Royal oak malton. Halloumi, chicken basket, nachos chicken and beef. Absolutely amazing food and great atmosphere. Forgot to take pictures first lol
We visited The Royal Oak in Malton Marketplace for an early evening meal and were thoroughly impressed. The standout dish was the Bunny Chow with lamb curry—rich, deep flavour, and with perfectly cooked, tender lamb. It came with a generous portion of chips that were properly crispy, as if double-cooked, and a fresh side salad. The Mexican pizza was another highlight—clearly made fresh, with a great base and that unmistakable finish from a proper pizza oven. The service itself was warm and friendly, not to mention the open fire making for a fantastic experience. We can’t wait to return!
The Royal Oak is a nice cosy pub. There is a good selection of beers, lager and cider, including two hand pulled cask conditioned real ales which were in excellent condition on our visit. There is a pool table and a nice outside seating area. After seeing the food menu we decided to eat there. I had the homemade steak pie, which was a large pie full of tender steak. It was one of the best pies i have had. The fish basket was also very good. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food and the cask ales were excellent i will come again when i am in the area.
