I have been following Matthew’s YouTube channel for some time now and have been amazed by his vast knowledge of the Jaguar brand, his attention to detail and the hard work he puts into every vehicle. I recently met up with Matthew at his business premises with other Jaguar owners and their classics in August at a tea/coffee morning meet up. I had wanted my own Jaguar XK professionally polished for some time but had been reluctant to use local businesses as I prefer to go on reputations and recommendations. After viewing vehicles first hand that Matthew had worked upon at his premises in Malton I could see the high standard of workmanship and his dedication was second to none. This gave my the confidence that he was the person I could trust him to carry out the work required to a high standard on my Jaguar and I also asked that he gave me his honest opinion on any other work my car may require to keep it in perfect condition. We agreed a plan on the work to be carried. I thought my car looked the part before he commenced the work but it now looks absolutely outstanding. Matthew then gave me ongoing advice how to look after the engine with performance additives, with recommendations of cleaning products to keep the bodywork in tip top condition. I was specifically looking out for a late model 2014 Jaguar XK Portfolio Signature specification (the final production run with a host of added extras) in great condition with low mileage when I came across a car in Polaris White advertised in a video by Matthew of the Malton Motor Company. It was described as concourse showroom condition inside and out with a full service history and only 46k miles at a very realistic and competitive price. The car in the video looked in amazing condition for an 11 year old car and Matthew had also posted a description of the car on his website describing the cars condition as basically like new. He also listed a host of recent work completed on the car such as new tyres, brake discs and pads, upgraded exhaust system, under body rust treatment and comprehensive service. I called Matthew that day and after chatting to him for almost an hour about the car and how his company chose and prepared their cars prior to sale I was left in no doubt this was the car for me. Matthew’s knowledge and enthusiasm for the Jaguar brand is truly remarkable and without ever actually seeing the car I placed a deposit on it. Matthew duly had the car MOT tested (passed with no advisories as Matthew stated it would) at an independent garage before my wife and I came to view the car a few days later. Wow! The car was exactly as Matthew described in absolutely pristine showroom condition. He presented the cars service and MOT history and went through the work carried out again before showing us around the car which was even better than we had imagined it could be. Both my wife and I were amazed an 11 year old unrestored car could be found in such incredible condition. Matthew described it as the best you could find in the UK and we could not disagree. We thanked Matthew paid for the car and drove it home 200 miles to Suffolk in which it did not miss a beat and drove perfectly, which again is exactly how Matthew said it would. We could not be happier with our purchase and cannot recommend Matthew and the Malton Motor Company highly enough.

Matthew's Jaguar experience and attention to detail are second to none. After buying my XJS from a well known specialist in the Southeast, I saw several of Matthew's finished Jags in person in his Malton showroom. My XJS Celebration Coupe was already a good quality relatively low mileage example (which won the 1990s class at one of the largest Yorkshire classic car shows in 2024), but I could see that Matthew could take it to another level. He completed a thorough inspection that showed the depth of his decades of experience working with Jags, commenting on all mechanical and cosmetic areas for improvement. We agreed a programme of works including servicing, bodywork, wheel refurb, Dinitrol rust prevention treatment and a comprehensive interior and exterior detailing and machine polish. He has now completed the work to perfection and returned the car to me with a fresh MOT with no advisories. It is no exageration to say that in many respects the car is now better than when it left the Armstrong Massey York showroom in 1995. I have no hesitation in recommending Matthew for any Jag mechanical, cosmetic or recommissioning work.

I recently acquired my XKR, it soon became apparent all was not as represented with the vehicle. I therefore asked Matthew to complete an inspection for me to identify any issues and a plan to correct. It transpired the car hadn’t received even basic maintenance for sometime. Matthew was totally open and clear on what needed doing now and what could wait, no pressure at all. He clearly has an expert knowledge of these fantastic vehicles which you can only acquire from years of practical experience. I have no doubt his involvement has saved me significant cost and inconvenience for many years to come. The car now drives like it should. I have no hesitation in recommending Matthew and I will certainly keep using him from now on.

Matthew from The Malton Motor Company is an absolute expert when it comes to Jaguar cars. His many years of experience in dealing with these cars really shows. I have learnt so much about Jaguars from talking to him and what to look out for when buying one. I have found Matthew to be very honest and a man of integrity.
