Great local bakery offering a fantastic selection of bread and baked goods. We have already visited the York and Leeds branches! This one is set in a lovely courtyard amongst other local businesses. We’re we’re hoping to get a Challah bread but got there too late as it had sold out. It was about 10am! So arrive early if you want to try this loaf! Anyway, we stumped for the seeded sourdough! It was just as lovely! Full of a variety of seeds and a great texture!!
We bought a selection of bakes this morning, they were overpriced and hugely disappointing. Dry, tasteless, did not seem fresh, presume left over from the day before. Prime example of style and branding over substance. One to avoid
At Malton today at the excellent gelato shop and saw this bakery. Popped in and bought an eccles cake, lime and coconut cake and a ciabatta. Got home tonight and went to have them with a cuppa, and they were the worst examples of baking we have seen ... ever! Eccles cake were 80% uncooked pastry, sponge was raw dough for 50% of the middle and the ciabatta was tight and fine even texture, 180 degrees away from what a ciabatta is meant to be. WORST baking we have even been too, bar none!!!
Fabulous special bread of the artisan kind, made and sold by lovely people. In addition they do some very good 'eat on the hoof' treats which are cheesy perfection. Update! Raspberry and chocolate swirls brought today we're just amazing.
The goats cheese and pepper slices are sublime, the savoury foccacia was awesome, the savoury eastern rolls were a little more than fabulous the sourdough variations are very very good never had anything less than sublime baking from this outlet. And have been on numerous occasions the sourdough when it dries out after a couple of days use for a ribbolita
