The Deli of Malton

Very welcoming on an overcast day but food was delicious. Warm toppings in brown baguettes with salad plus a cup of homemade soup and a cafetière of delicious coffee. Very nice. Not the quickest of service but it was lunchtime, they were very busy and we weren’t in a hurry so happy to chat over our coffee. Delicious deli to purchase some take home bits and pieces. Dog friendly both outside and in. Excellent

Fabulous Yorkshire goats cheese salad. Served on crusty bread with onion chutney, salad, bacon, boiled egg and walnuts. Pot of Earl Grey cane with a pot of hot water for you to top up with.

What a lovely place to eat and unwind! The food was gorgeous! I couldn’t make up my mind and our waitress found a way to combine the two options I was stuck on and I was one well fed and happy lady! The staff are a credit. Bright. Welcoming. Happy to have a little chat as they serve. One of the ladies was singing as she went about her work but not in a way that disturbed, a way that added to the atmosphere. The menu is extensive, home cooked and full of warming treats. My Nana enjoyed the Shepherds Pie which, might I add was a very generous portion. We will be returning. This is my new favourite place.

The best service, the best quiche I’ve ever had in my life and the only place where I’ve actually walked away full, and smiling, because of the taste, the service, the atmosphere. Too pricey to go every day, but if I could I would. My daughter loved her chicken goujon wrap, and the person with us loved his meal from the specials board. As soon as my daughter realised he got chips, she had to ask for some. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier, even thanking us for clearing the table for them (something I always tend to do, as staff have it hard enough already and went above and beyond for us and from what I saw, for everyone there) Shame there’s no 10 stars for this review because they earned it, and seem to do every time.

This place looked good from outside but on entering I thought the whole inside seemed very tired with a slightly stale smell, the wooden floor certainly looked dirty and the table cloths looked like they needed a wash. The brunch food I had was ok, but the bacon was tough as though it had been pre-cooked and was just placed on top of the poached eggs, the food took a while to come considering there were lots of staff just stood talking. The food in the deli area looked like it had been there for ever, and the fridge it was in did not look very clean.
