Just popped in for a drink. Barman was friendly and welcoming. Beers were nice. Little separate room at front was quiet and chilled.
Comfortable stay here slept well, karaoke on in the lively bar downstairs but didn't go on too late, friendly staff in a nice little town, the bus station with links to Scarborough and Whitby a short walk away was a plus, would definitely visit again
Me and wife had lunch here today. A nice traditional town centre pub with a good selection of ales, not too glammed up but as I say traditional. The food on offer was spot on for this type of pub. A fairly basic but sufficient menu, offering
This is a review for the hotel rather than the pub downstairs. (1 night, £36) I've given it a 4 star, though it may be more of a 3.5 depending on how much you value peace and quiet, you decide. Pros: - very central - very clean (would have liked to see the toilet paper roll in the toilet paper holder rather than on the floor but that's a very small thing) - lovely staff, nice and helpful with my bike - comfortable bewitched soft bedding Cons: - there is an inexplicably large exit sign IN the small room that lits the room in green. You will absolutely need an eye mask. - the curtains are not good at blocking the daylight - wifi wasn't working - never replied to my email re. Breakfast Finally, the rooms are over the pub (understand you will hear the karaoke night). The pub is on a busy street with poorly insulated windows (understand you will hear traffic VERY well). I wasnt too bothered by the noise, but you may want earplugs if you are.
Tuesday 9th July On Tuesday night, we stopped in this hotel/ real ale pub. The pub is in the centre of Malton. There were 2 real ales on today. The real ales were good. The owners are very polite and sociable. The pub is a propper locals pub and old fashioned This is a pub we'll worth visiting when in Malton On Tuesday night, 9th July 2024 We stopped in room 2 for the cost the room was ideal it was no unsuited and there was a green exit light on in the room all night which was abhorrent but all in all a good value for money room to stop in for 1 night
