This store belies its charm, an Aladdin's Cave of specialist foods, spices and fresh vegetables originating from South Asia... there is an endless selection of tempting imported foods. The spices are beyond imagination, everything you could possibly put into a balti dish... many of these spices and seeds you will never have had the joy to sample! Virtually all the spices are packed in sealed packages, from a host of UK based importers... and the value for money is astonishing, putting most supermarkets to shame with their small, overpriced bottles! The gentleman serving at the till was extremely polite, helpful and organised, finding the spices for which we were exploring, in an instant, together with his magician of a floor assistant! The value in this store is beyond doubt. We spent £10 on nine items... almost all on spices, except a bottle of Kashmiri Kawa Tea, a green tea base, with a gentle infusion of Cardamom, Clove and Saffron. Do take the detour from Sheffield Parkway and you will find the Darnall Continental Grocery Store is on Staniforth Road, just one minute from The Prince of Wales Road... if you enjoy Southern Asian cuisine, you will love it.

The people here are incredible they're kind and caring and sometimes have discounts on meats which is great for freezing and cater to the Asian and middle eastern descent They helped me with my epilepsy and also a family member who suffered whiplash so I'm very grateful for not only their professional abilities but also their humbleness within the community

If you require curry Powder spices and things to add to your quishine this is the shop to visit, used by local people, good to know a place like this exists.
