The outside is very attractive with stone pillars, and looks appealing. The rooms are lovely with wood panelling and fireplaces, but we were put on the top floor (narrow steep stairs) even though the place seemed empty. The heating is only on intermittently, but they will 'give it a boost' if you ask. The ground floor is poor. The only bar open is brightly lit with a TV showing game shows etc. The front 'lounge area' is also brightly lit, generally empty with no music or comfortable seating. There is good beer from the beautiful (we took a peek) 'Real Ale Bar' but it was closed with the lights out and smelled musty. The one member of staff we saw on two occasions (one for a drink, one to stay) was welcoming enough, but not overly service orientated. They don't do breakfast. We didn't look at the dinner menu, went to The Bay Horse instead.

A beautiful old hotel, lots of warm colored wood Throughout. The room was big and comfortable, dark carpets, and oak trims, and a fireplace. An old fashioned wc completed the look. The only sour thing, were little notes everywhere Telling you not to do this and not to do that, Including a Β£50 charge if you stained the carpet.

Staff are lovely, friendly and polite and so are the locals. Room has beautiful features and is spacious and cosy. Feels more personal than chain hotels. Church bells at night are lovely to hear from a distance. Would highly recommend if you are staying in the area.

We loved it. The Landlady was very friendly and allowed us to check in early as we were going to a wedding. The room was well equipped with traditional fittings you would expect in a period building. Our room was very spacious with tea and coffee facilities and porridge if you fancy a light bite in the morning. The other staff were also friendly and helpful and one of the main things was the cleanliness. It is located on the main street so a good spot for sampling the local market town facilities. Pubs, cafes restaurants and craft shops. I would highly recommend the Londesborough for a trip to Market Weighton and can easily be used as a hub for discovering the surrounding villages and countryside. A big thank you for a great stay!
