Great cafe with lovely home made food and friendly atmosphere, right on the high street. Although busy at Monday lunchtime everyone - staff & regulars - was really friendly, and explained food options. We both had delicious soup & bread (Lentil & bacon and chunky veg), served with a generous 2 slices of tasty seeded bread. Our dog was made to feel very welcome too and offered treats and water. Easy parking outside or in nearby car park. Ps Cakes looked great too- next time!
Have had excellent food/service here before. Sadly this time, my brunch was poor. Eggs on toast. Shrivelled overcooked eggs on dry toast. Had to ask for butter. Still very poor. I must say, however, my wife had beens and mushrooms on toast and it was good. I dont feel i will return.
Despite supposedly being open until 3 pm, the girl behind the counter told us she was no longer serving when 7 of us tried to get a coffee in this cafe the other Saturday. I assume she couldn't be bothered to make them despite the fact it was only 2.15 pm. No way to run a business!
Called in today wanting a light lunch. Asked if we were eating inor taking away. We replied eating in we were then informed cafe had a reduced menu due to temperature, and that we should go to Copeland's or the Seven Dials. We were not told what reduced menu was, interesting the ice cream was open to the elements in a freezer that had no doors/lid on. Looked like a nice cafe, but we will never know. If you have a reduced menu, train you staff to tell customers what it is, as chances are we would have been happy with it.
Excellent little dog friendly cafe. Good service, nice food and friendly staff
