From September 30th to October 12th, 2024, Market Weighton Town Hall will host an exciting new art exhibition by the East Riding Artists (ERA) group, featuring a wide range of paintings and 3D works. This exhibition, part of a rolling programme organised for 2024-25, aims to highlight the creative talent of this celebrated group, which is one of the largest of its kind in Northern England.

A diverse collection from local artists

The upcoming exhibition promises to be a remarkable display of artistic skill and imagination, with a broad spectrum of styles and mediums on show. These pieces will reflect the vibrant culture and landscapes of the East Riding area, capturing the essence of life in this unique part of Yorkshire.

With over 100 members, ERA has grown into a substantial force within the regional art scene. Every artist is represented on the group's website and featured in an annual directory distributed across the area. These artists work across a range of disciplines, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery-making, and mixed media, making this exhibition a must-see for art enthusiasts.

Market Weighton Town Hall: The perfect venue

A spokesperson for the East Riding Artists praised Market Weighton Town Hall as an ideal venue for the event:

“Market Weighton is a vibrant market town situated in the heart of the county with convenient parking in the centre. The exhibition will involve a broad range of styles and mediums, many of them representing the essence of life and landscapes in and around the East Riding.”

The Town Hall’s light and spacious exhibition room provides the perfect setting to appreciate the intricate details and craftsmanship of the artwork on display.

The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Thursday, with shorter hours on Friday (10 am to 1 pm), and extended weekend hours from 10 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
