A lovely traffic free walk through the countryside to Beverley. A little tricky at the end as the right of way has been closed into Beverley but locals helped us .

The Hudson Way is a fantastic route stretching from Beverley to Market Weighton along the old disused railway line. It’s pretty flat most of the way and the path is wide but it can be muddy in places. It’s very popular with walkers of all ages and a great place for dog walkers. We like to walk from Market Weighton and along until the turn off which takes you up on to Goodmanham. This actually makes a great circular walk as it’s possible to continue through Goodmanham then rejoin the Hudson Way and walk back to the starting point. The trees and bushes are skillfully maintained so that the area always looks natural rather than contrived. Beautiful to explore throughout the year I particularly love the autumnal colours.

We have completed the Hudson Way in roughly 2 mile sections. Easy to park up and walk there and back. Some sections are muddy but passable and the walk is a fairly straight line (given it was a train track)

Superb use of old railway track making the country side available to everyone. All old railway tracks should be turned into accessible areas for walkers and cyclists in

A lovely, 11 mile walk along the disused railway line between Beverley and Market Weighton. The route is level almost all the way, though there are a few short but steep ascents and descents, where old bridges have been removed. For most of the way the path is firm and dry but there are a few sections that can get very muddy after rain. The route passes through open farmland for 99% of the way and is lined with trees throughout. Wild flowers abound in the hedgerows and it will not be unusual to see foxes, squirrels, weasels, stoats, hares, rabbits and the occasional deer, as well as numerous species of bird. There are several conservation areas along the route and blackberries, elderberries, wild strawberries, sloes, crab apples and damsons can all be picked in season - wonderful for making your own flavoued gins and vodkas.
