Originally released in late November 1981 and lead by the track lsquoGood Morning Universersquo, the EPwas the fourth top 20 charting single for the band in that year, following the lsquoFour From ToyahrsquoEP lead by lsquoItrsquos A Mysteryrsquo, lsquoI Want To Be Freersquo and lsquoThunder In The Mountainsrsquo.The EP was the first material to be studiorecorded since the departure of drummerNigelGlocklerwho was replaced bySimon Phillips. This EP contains eight tracks recorded by the lineup ofToyah Willcoxvocals,Joel Bogenguitarist, cowriter and cofounder of the Toyah band,Adrian Leekeyboards,Phil Spaldingbass and the newly recruited Simon Phillips drums.Side A contains all four of the tracks from the original EP.Side B opens with the previouslyunreleased, studio recordedtour intro track lsquoGo Berserkrsquo, including new vocals and snatches oflyrics from lsquoNeon Wombrsquo and lsquoUrban Tribesmenrsquo plus new dialogue that leads to achillingcrescendo. lsquoGo Berserkrsquo was played before the band walked on stage on the EuropeanTour of winter 1981.It is swiftly followed by the newly remastered lsquoStand Proudrsquo which oftenfeatured as the first song played live. The track originally appeared on a flexidisc with initialcopies of the lsquoFour More From Toyahrsquo EP.The third track is lsquoClapham Junctionrsquo, an outtake that began in the session for the single ThundernbspIn The Mountains, was finished with new drum parts from Simon Phillips and vocalslyrics from Toyah.nbspThe final track is the last session recorded by this lineup and hails from Februarynbsp1982. This previously unreleased rerecording of the hit single lsquoI Want To Be Freersquo was producednbspbySteve Lillywhitein the Roundhouse Studios and went on to be used as the basis of thenbspbandrsquos television performance on the British Rock amp Pop Awards when Toyah was awarded bestnbspFemale Singer in early 1982. This track has not previously been released.All eight tracks are remastered backnbspWatson atnbspFluid Mastering and approved by Joel Bogen.The sleeve contains an outtake of the EP photography from the Safari archives plus full lyrics onnbspnewly designed inner bag.
