Japanese Lace Fern (Polystichum polyblepharum) - attractive evergreen fern with feathery fronds that emerge yellowish-green with slender golden scales, maturing to glossy dark green. Hardy perennial, RHS Award of Garden Merit, spreads 0.5–1 m when established. Thrives in full or partial shade, prefers moist, well-drained soil, and suits pots, borders, patios and cottage gardens. Low-maintenance - cut back dead fronds in winter to encourage fresh growth.
