Rounding it all off, are nonalbum BSides, and additional live recordings, previously only available on video.The Rhythm King039s modus operandi was established right from their 03997 debut album 039Struttin039 OurStuff039, where Bill and longtime collaborator Terry Taylor, were joined by an eyewatering array oftalent that included Albert Lee, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Georgie Fame, Paul Carrack and PeterFrampton. Into this mix came singers Beverley Skeete and Mike Sanchez, drummer Graham Broad, abrass section anchored by Frank Mead and Nick Payn, pianist Dave Hartley, and guitarist MartinTaylor, all of whom would become regular Kings and Queens.A year later, 039Anyway The Wind Blows039 introduced Andy FairweatherLow as a frequent fellowtraveller, while guest artistes included Chris Rea, and Bill039s former bandmate, guitarist Mick Taylor.The 2000 collection 039Groovin039039 saw an appearance by percussionist to the stars Ray Cooper, whoenjoyed it so much, he came back in 2001 for 039Double Bill039, where the ensemble were joined by anappearance from George Harrison. Another stellar name was added to the credits on 039Just For AThrill039 in 2007, with Mark Knopfler lending his considerable talents.Capturing the sheer joy of the Rhythm Kings039 stage performances, 039Live039 2005 and 039LiveCommunication039 2011 were recorded in Germany in 03904, and the UK in 03908 respectively. The 2018collection 039Studio Time039 features 15 outtakes from eight different sessions, originally recordedbetween 1987 and 2003.As you would expect from such a talented cast, the playing is of the highest calibre, breathing newlife into a varied and occasionally unexpected selection of songs, drawn from Blues, Jazz, Rock 039n039Roll, RampB and Soul standards, plus some originals from Bill, that fit seamlessly into the feel andmood. The group039s enjoyment of playing together is obvious on every track.
