The active ingredient, ciclosporin, exerts anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects. Ciclosporin has been shown to preferentially inhibit the activation of T-lymphocytes on antigenic stimulation by impairing the production of IL-2 and other T-cell derived cytokines.
