Liquitex : Professional White Gesso

Liquitex Professional White Gesso is used to prime your surface with an excellent tooth and eliminates background colour with an opaque matt white finish. This gesso also stiffens your canvas to create the optimum absorbency for paint application €“ providing a professional standard archival base to maximise the longevity of your work. It is suitable for use with acrylic and oil paints, pencils, charcoals and pastels. It can be used on canvas, canvas panels, hardboard, paper, wood and any non oily porous supports. This can be used undiluted, or you can thin it with up to 25% water (if you thin more than this you will need to add a matte medium in equal mix with the water). You can add a custom tint to the gesso by adding a small amount of a soft acrylic paint. If the surface you wish to paint is hard or shiny lightly sand before application. When using this base for oil paints apply 2 to 4 coats and sand lightly between application. This is available in 6 sizes ranging from 118ml to 3.79L.
