Clairefontaine Pastelmat No.1 Pastelgrain Pads Contain A Premium Card-based Surface Specially Developed For Soft Pastels. Its Unique Velvety Surface, Made From A Fine Coating Of Pumice And Cellulose Fibres, Has The Ability To Grab And Hold Multiple Layers Of Even The Softest Pastels. Pastelmat Significantly Reduces The Need For Fixative, Which Means That Colours Remain Vibrant And Fresh Once Applied. It Has The Added Bonus Of Being Gentle On Both Fingers And Blending Tools. It Is Acid-free, PH-neutral, And Lightfast. Pastelmat Is Ideal For Use With All Dry Media Including Soft Pastels, PanPastel, Pencils, And Charcoal. It Is Also Water-resistant Making It Suitable For Wet Media Such As Acrylics, Watercolour Washes, And Mixed Media Techniques. The Pads Are Glued On One Side Allowing Sheets To Be Easily Removed, And Each Sheet Is Protected By A Crystal Paper Interlayer. This Pad Contains Twelve 360gsm Sheets In Four Assorted Tones Of Grey. Please Note, PastelMat Is Sometimes Subject To Some Small Spotting And Discolouration. This Is To Be Expected Due To The Manufacturing Process. The Small Talc Spots Can Simply Be Removed With A Stiff Brush Or A Craft Knife.
